Da Bush Babees
Hailing from my old neighborhood in Flatbush Brooklyn, Da Bushbabees, comprised of members Mr. Man, Babe-B-Face Kaos and Y-Tee, definitely represented well in the 90's and held it down for the "40's"(BK stand up!). This was their 2nd single from their album "Ambushed". This was actually a solid record and included production by Jermaine Dupree, Salaam Remi and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. It was a perfect blend of boom-bap music, tinged with a slice of Dancehall, and solid, atmospheric sample use.
I've been trying to find this particular mix of the Mos Def colab with Babe-B-Face of the Bushbabees you see below on wax or mp3 but apparently it's hard to find...if anyone has any leads, hit me up. Most of us who where familiar with their music where also introduced to Mos Def through their Pos Dnuos produced "Love Song" track..
