Soul on Bikes...

Selvedge Yard posted about the brilliant history of Black motorcycle culture and the California African American Museum's exhibit Soul on Bikes. This is a part of history that is not publicized as much but is just as relevant. The wonderful photos featured are from the book shown above and tell of a proud history of Black motorcycle culture in this country. Even today, the leather vest clad brothers can be seen rolling deep through various cities. I only hope their younger, crotch rocket riding counterparts fully appreciate the ones who led the way...from the Tuskegee Airmen, to the East Bay Dragons of Cali.

Notice how fly we look on bikes back then....
