Getting it in....

Happy Sunday! This past week was busy as usual but productive nonetheless. First let me direct you to an amazing abstract artists on the rise..Rachel Stewart. She is truly gifted and has the Triangle area's art community buzzing with her bold, thought provoking and colorful art. Oh, did I mention she is fine as hell too?

Feel free to check out her website at rachelstewart.net. *fyi, I did the music for her site as well ;)* Her work can also be seen at the Capital Bank building on Fayetteville St. in Downtown Raleigh. Hit her up and show some love...

The rest of the weekend was spent doing photoshoots and editing. I had the opportunity to shoot rising jazz vocalist Zakiyah. Her album was just released and her band is smoking! Be on the lookout for her tour which will be kicking off in May sometime. More details to come....

Funky Friday....

Okay family!!! Happy Friday to everyone out there....I wanted to drop this little jewel from my dude Donwil, 1/3 of one of the best rap groups you've never heard of, Tanya Morgan. This track is very introspective and it's nice to see brothers putting all the tough talk aside and talking about love. The flow, track, sample...all exceptional. Look forward to Donwil's solo joint as well as Tanya Morgan's new album Brooklynati....

Song of the Day

...from one of my favorite producer / songwriter / vocalists...Muhsinah. The sister is dope and my next mission is to find the sample she used for this track...

Monday Monday....

I really need to start taking my black ass to bed at a decent hour. These 3am mornings just aren't jiving with the kid anymore.

Anyway...as I stated in the onset of this blog, my plan is to of course showcase some of my work, random thoughts (although hooking up a Twitter feed here would be better), and highlighting some of my favorite looks, music, fashions, trends, etc. Now I'm no fashionista, I merely think I have an idea of what a progressive thinking, success-minded man should be rocking nowadays. With that said, a few times a week I'll drop some jewels to help get my notion across regarding the fashion thing. Perhaps I'll do a "fashion no-no" thing as well although I believe we have enough of those blogs circulating already....I'll also probably have a few tidbits about what my eye thinks a fly lady would rock...but we'll see about that...

With all of that out the way, I'd like to start off with my dudes from BK...The Brooklyn Circus. The Bearded Man / founder has been doing his thing for a minute and seems to have found the perfect combination of classy, not too hipster, well made, classic, and just plain fly gear for the masses who care about well made clothing. Below are a few shots from their stores at various locations. Ultimately, my judgement when it comes to men's fashion depends mainly on one question.."would I rock that?"....When it comes to BKC, the answer is yes and yes again...from head to toe.

Be sure to check them out and see what I mean....

This weekend...

..was productive and chill... Five Star with some cool peeps, cool music and decent drinks...I had fun! It's always dope to hang with an ecclectic and interesting bunch of people...I dig the diversity I'm seeing in some parts of the area...

The rest of the weekend was spent editing photos as usual. Today I linked back up with Forge and Paradime for another shoot indoors this time. The shots came out dope and I'm sure they'll find use for them in their promotional material...

Events and stuff...

Below are some shots from a party I covered for a clients' parents' joint surprise birthday party. This event took place months ago but she just got back to me about the specific edits she'd like for her final package. Gotta love it....thank goodness for external backup drives.

Creative Silence and Dj Forge collab...

Bigups to my dude DJ Forge for the shoutout he gave me on his site. We'll be knocking his photoshoot out soon and I'm pretty stoked. DJ Forge is one of the Triangle area's best DJ's and it's always a pleasure rocking to his sets. Check out his website for updates and who he'll be working with in the upcoming months....

Model of the week.

I had the pleasure of shooting Natasha some weeks ago in downtown Raleigh. She will be a great runway model one day and we had a ball from our shoot. Here are a couple of my "best of" shots from that day:

The Wedding Thing...

Ok kids....those who know me know I've never been one to say wedding photography was a major part of my photography grizzie, but hey...it pays and I'm good at it. With that said, I just wanted to post up some photos from a huge wedding I had the privilege of photographing late last year. It took me a minute to get the files in my hands but I'm glad to finally have them. Over 3,000 shots where taken over a 2 day period and from what I can tell, the family was more than pleased. SO.....if you need a wedding photographer....HOLLA!!

Enjoy....
